Welcoming Andrea Tyson to our NCD Staff!

The North Central District has many women who serve in ministry leadership. We celebrate this, believing it to be an important expression of the EFCA’s gracious complementarian convictions.  Our district staff is committed to walk alongside these women, helping them grow personally and serve fruitfully. In order to strengthen this ministry, we are excited to welcome Andrea Tyson to our team. Beginning October 1st, she will serve as NCD Director for Women in Ministry.

Andrea grew up in the EFCA as part of Crystal Evangelical Free Church (now called New Hope Church). She attended Northwestern College and Providence Theological Seminary. After seminary, Andrea joined the staff of New Hope Church to serve as the Director of Women’s Ministries, a role she flourished in for 14 years. In 2021, she stepped out in faith to join the church planting team of Living Hope Church (EFC) in the northwest suburbs of the Twin Cities. Andrea is trusted by our district family, having served on our NCD Board of Directors since 2018. She is a woman of excellent character, with a deep love for God’s Word and a genuine heart for serving others. She is passionate about making disciples of Jesus Christ.

In her new part-time role, Andrea will focus on four things:

  • Providing coaching and mentoring for women who serve in ministry leadership (both paid and volunteer roles)
  • Starting clusters for women who serve in ministry leadership roles within our NCD congregations (our initial expectation would be two clusters)
  • Consulting with NCD pastors and church leaders who want perspective on how to equip and empower women in their local congregations
  • Together with our NCD staff, caring for and supporting NCD pastors, church leaders and churches

We are so excited to have her on our team!

One more thing…Living Hope Church (EFC), the church plant where Andrea serves full-time, is graciously donating a portion of Andrea’s time along with working to raise funds, so she can serve our NCD family of churches in this new role. We are so thankful for their generosity! If you would like to support Andrea’s work with the NCD, we encourage you to make a donation to this new church plant. You can learn more about the church and give online here.

Andrea is excited to hear from you and how she can help you and your church!   andrea.tyson@ncdefca.org
