Bio
Jon has served as director for older adult ministry for EFCA’s North Central District since 2025. He grew up seeing the gospel lived out by his missionary parents while serving in Hong Kong. He accepted Jesus as his Savior at a young age and recommitted in late elementary school at Camp Shamineau while on home assignment. Later, Jon graduated with a degree in chemical engineering and worked at 3M Company in engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain management for nearly 40 years. Over those years, he and his family moved many times and in each location they were involved in lay ministry at EFCA churches in many different roles. He has his masters degree in Theological Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity school and assists the chaplain at Cassia’s Harmony Gardens Senior Living Facility in spiritual care. He and Louise met at the University of Minnesota and have been married since 1980. They have 7 children and 10 grandchildren whom they love to spend time with. They also enjoy bicycling, camping, kayaking, and sailing on Minnesota lakes. He is grateful to serve alongside our district team as we serve pastors, church leaders, and churches.
Older Adult Ministry
As the director for older adult ministry, his ministry focuses on representing the NCD on the Elim Care and Cassia Boards, encouraging supportive connections between EFCA churches and Elim Care facility chaplains, networking with NCD pastors and lay leaders to share best practices in ministries to older adults, and facilitating NCD events to bring older adults together in fellowship.
