Something for Everyone at District Conference

There will be an array of workshops and affinity groups available at this year’s District Conference. Several of these align with the five key opportunities that Brian Farone identified at last year’s conference:

  • Leadership Pipeline
  • Evangelism
  • All People
  • Gospel and Scripture
  • Church Revitalization

Assisting the Leadership Pipeline, Bob Osborne from California will present a workshop on Leading from the Second Chair.

Ray Chang will also show us how we can strengthen our Leadership Pipeline as he shares his experience with Pastoral Residencies.

Randy Discher will contribute to our focus on Evangelism by presenting How to Lead Your Church to Be a Conversion Community

Several of our Latino and Anglo leaders will point us forward in Evangelism and All People by showing us How to Start a Latino Ministry Within Your Church.

Chris Holck from Florida will help us with both Evangelism and All People by spotlighting an opportunity for mobilization and church planting: “Boomers” Please Call Them, but Don’t Call Them “Seniors.”

Kevin Kompelien will equip us in Evangelism and All People as he presents Missions across the Street and around the World.

Olin and Bev Phillips’s Courageous Grandparenting could expand your perspective and your fruitfulness in the Leadership Pipeline, in Evangelism, and/or in All People.

In addition, Becky Kompelien will encourage and equip pastors’ wives with My Husband Is a Pastor, and Greg Strand will interact about the proposed amendment to the EFCA Statement of Faith.

Affinity groups will also be available for encouragement and instruction among individuals involved in similar ministries, including women in ministry, family ministries, smaller-town ministries, student ministries, and interim pastors.

There are many reasons to enjoy our annual District family gathering. These workshops and affinity groups are one of those reasons. We hope to see you and enjoy your fellowship at New Hope Church on April 1-2! For full descriptions, click here.
