By God’s grace and provision, the North Central Foundation continues to be a bright spot in the NCD’s ministry! We are thankful for your participation in many ways, and want to give you an update on what’s happening.
Overall Foundation Activity
- Since inception in 2022, we have made 40 grants totaling almost $425,000. So far, 2026 looks like it will be our busiest year yet! To date, we’ve made 15 grants and have another 10 possibilities in process. We are thankful that for now, we have adequate funds available to continue making grants.
- This year’s grants include our first seminary scholarship, a new church plant grant for Harbor Point in Red Wing, 8 grants for residencies/internships, and 5 revitalization grants for primarily facility needs.
- One highlight is the results we are seeing from residencies and internships. Our hope and prayer is that residencies and internships will lead to pastoral placements in the NCD, whether in the church that held the residency or in another NCD congregation. We are excted to report that the first two completed residencies have led to placements!
- Paul Arneberg, our first such grant recipient, is now on staff as an associate pastor at New Life EFC in Hastings.
- Zack Melvin is on staff as an associate pastor at Heritage Fellowship in St Louis Park.
Foundation Needs, Next Steps, And How You Can Help
- While we have adequate funding for our present needs, we are actively seeking additional funding for the continued work of the foundation:
- We would welcome giving to the foundation from your church’s missions budget – particularly for church planting, but also for pastoral development and revitalization grants.
- We are looking for NCD pastors and leaders who will step forward and invest their individual resources in the foundation. Individual gifts to the foundation can be made through our website or by forwarding a check designated for the North Central Foundation to our office at 3510 Hopkins Place N., Building 4, Oakdale, MN 55128.
- We invite you to prayerfully look around our NCD family, see where God is at work, and encourage us to join in through a grant. If you are aware of a possible grant, we would be delighted to receive your recommendation! You can recommend a recipient through the “suggest a grant” on our foundation page.
- When we started the North Central Foundation, we said we would review it after five years and that time is coming soon. If you have thoughts or ideas about the foundation – in any areas – please reach out to Paul Anderson and let us know. We are “better together,” and the Proverbs reminds us multiple times that there is victory to be found in an abundance of advice and counselors. While we are thankful for all God has done to this point with the North Central Foundation, we are excited for what the next five years hold as we adjust our course and continue pressing forward.
- PRAY! This is the last item in this post, but it is certainly not the least important. Please pray for discernment, wisdom, courage, and faith as we trust God to direct our next steps in this important part of our work.
