Expanded opportunities with the North Central Foundation

We provided an update on the North Central Foundation at our recent district conference last month, and we wanted to make it available to everyone. In short, the foundation is doing very well – we are excited about both what has happened to date as well as the opportunities that lie ahead.

The foundation was established in 2022 to provide ministry grants to NCD congregations for church revitalization, church multiplication, and (new in 2025) pastoral development. Grant funding to date is approaching $175,000 from approximately 20 grants, and current available funding is $540,000+ (we received a large donation of $300,000 this year). Grants can be made for church plants, pastoral residents & ministry internships, seminary scholarships (see more below), and revitalization projects like evangelism training, facility updates (like the new sign at Calvary EFC), church assessments, and leadership retreats. In short, if it helps NCD churches start, grow, and raise up leaders, there’s a good possibility a grant could be made!

New in 2025, the work of the foundation is expanding to include seminary scholarships for aspiring lead pastors. Beginning in late 2025, we will award one $10,000 and two $5,000 scholarships each year, and our hope is to do this each year for the next five years. For more information on this new initiative, see our info card here. More information on the application process for these scholarships will be made available soon, with applications beginning this summer.

We need your participation in the foundation – we are better together and can’t do it without you!

    • Find and connect with a worthy recipient and recommend them for a grant.
    • Give! We need churches willing to give from missions funding who view the foundation as a church planting resource. We also need NCD pastors and leaders who are willing to invest regularly in the foundation from their personal resources.

It is encouraging to see congregations and relationships growing. Collaboration between NCD pastors, churches, and the NCD is deepening, and help that makes a real difference is being provided through foundation grants.  If you want more information on the foundation, check out our website or contact Paul Anderson at paul.anderson@ncdefca.org.
