EFCA NCD ENCORE MINISTRIES
Spanning the generations of 55+ and beyond
The NCD ENCORE Ministry exists to encourage and inspire men and women 55+ to lead vibrant and purposeful lives, perhaps serving in church, in our communities, or with the younger generations.
As we transition into a new stage of life as empty nesters and retirees, there is the added potential of having more discretionary time. This could be a time to plan an ENCORE, building new friendships, enjoying new experiences, volunteering, serving in ministry opportunities and building into the lives of those younger than us.
The ENCORE Ministries Team also encourages our churches to offer ministry opportunities for the 55+ adults and to encourage them in this next journey of life to finish well, fulfilling God’s purposes.
For over 20 years the District Team has offered two special events annually, to encourage and inspire men and women to remain faithful, teachable and available to be of service in our churches and beyond. Building relationships with others in the NCD is an ongoing emphasis of these two events as we spend time in worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth, plus having fun together.
The coming special events are:
The 2020 Spring Celebration will be held on Monday, April 20, at First EFC Maplewood.
Join us April 20th for a great day of learning, singing, encouragement, and lunch! We’ve changed things up a bit and are adding some short informational presentations on very practical topics. See brochure for more detailed information.
9:30 am registration
10:00 am Session 1
11:45 am Lunch Buffet
12:45 pm Session 2
These events have been very well received in the past and will continue to be offered in the future. However, we will be introducing modifications to our special events in order to reach out to the new wave of men and women entering the second half of life. Retiring adults 55+ are active, in good health, and leading vibrant and fulfilling lives. We look forward to their participation in our District ENCORE events.
