At the end of April we enjoyed our first regular-format in-person gathering in three years. New Hope Church hosted the event for 300+ participants. Sam Huggard preached incisive messages from 2 Timothy 2, connecting the text to life and ministry in practical ways. Dayton Dodge and the musical team blessed the conference with rich seasons of musical worship. The conference paused to remember former superintendent Dean Johnson, who went to be with the Lord this past year.
Along with workshops and mealtime conversations, attendees voted Dave Abernethy (2nd term), Jennifer Kvamme (1st term), and Jose Rivera (2nd term) to the district board of directors, approved the annual budget, and welcomed Renew Church (Duluth) and Living Hope Community Church (Chatfield) into district membership. Brian Farone presented his annual update, and outgoing board chair Bryan Lair reflected on his two terms on the board.
The North Central District Foundation was officially launched, and the William J. Hamel Memorial Chapel fundraising effort was announced. Shamineau Ministries held its annual luncheon business meeting at the conclusion of the conference. We are grateful for the multi-faceted fellowship that we enjoyed as God answered many prayers for the conference.
